Overview

NestEgg ("we," "our," or "us") is a shared savings tracking app that helps households set goals, log savings commitments, and optionally connect bank accounts to track deposits automatically. We take your privacy seriously and are committed to being transparent about how we collect, use, and protect your information.

Information We Collect

We collect information you provide (name, email, savings goals, household data), information from third-party services (Clerk for authentication, Plaid for bank account linking), and automatically collected information (push notification tokens, basic usage data).

If you connect a bank account via Plaid, we may receive account names, types, masked account numbers, balances, and transaction history. We access only what is necessary to detect savings deposits.

How We Use Your Information

We use your data to operate the app, detect deposits in connected bank accounts, send push notifications you have opted into, respond to support requests, and improve the app. We do not sell your personal or financial information, use it for advertising, or share it with data brokers.

How We Protect Your Data

All data is transmitted over TLS. Plaid access tokens are encrypted at rest using AES-256-GCM before storage. Non-credential financial data is stored in a managed, access-controlled PostgreSQL database. We require multi-factor authentication for internal system access.

Data Retention

Account data is retained while your account is active. If you delete your account, we delete your personal and financial data within 30 days. Plaid access tokens are deleted immediately when you disconnect a bank account.

Your Rights

You can view and update account information within the app. You can delete your account by contacting us. You can disconnect any linked bank account at any time. You can disable push notifications in your device Settings. You may request a copy of your data by contacting us.

Children's Privacy

NestEgg is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
